HEALTHY AND CONSCIOUS FASHION
We design haramakis and fashion accessories that promote a comfortable and convenient lifestyle, seeking a production that has a positive impact on people and the environment. We care for you and the world around us with the same love and attention.
And because we know that every action adds up, from the beginning we have been committed to Happy Belly Barcelona being a sustainable brand in its economic, social and environmental facets.
PROXIMITY
We believe in the future of the local economy and look for suppliers close to home.
Our confection workshops are based in the Barcelona area and understand our needs: small, staggered production runs to avoid overstock, and help with recycling fabric offcuts. Our fabric suppliers are European.
The organic cotton comes from a Dutch supplier certified to GOTS standards. Our merino wool products are made with yarn of Italian origin.
RESPECT
We look for certified yarns and fabrics that guarantee respect for the environment, decent working conditions and fair trade practices.
For cotton, the fabric we use comes from a supplier certified to the GOTS standard (Global Organic Textile Standard, licence number CB-GOTS-CUC-03-1010800), which ensures that the cotton is organically grown and that the entire fabric production chain meets strict social and environmental criteria.
For superior extra fine wool, the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certifies animal welfare and responsible land management in wool production.
The dyes used in our fabrics carry the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, which verifies that they contain no substances harmful to human health or the environment — meaning less impact during fabric production and with every wash thereafter.
RESPONSIBILITY
Our packaging and wrapping can be recycled or reused after use: cardboard boxes, compostable envelopes, or organic cotton cloth bags.
In our stationery store, we use a textile upcycling model, as the paper used for our composition labels, postcards, and business cards is made from waste discarded from the textile manufacturing process: 25% leather waste and 40% recycled fibers.
A paper produced with 100% green energy and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC ), which ensures that forest products, such as wood, paper, and derivatives, come from responsibly managed, socially beneficial, and economically viable forests.
CIRCULARITY
Fabric scraps are the main waste generated in the garment workshop. To minimize their impact, we began transforming them into other products that we use in promotional activities and campaigns.
We will soon expand with more actions to recover and restore your haramaki.
